PRINCE
Long story short - A 1977 photograph of Prince standing in front of the "music wall" building in Minneapolis led me on a crazy 4 y ear journey from identifying and locating the photographer Robert Whitman (my downstairs neighbor in NYC as it insanely happened) and helping him create a book from the hundreds of pictures he took of Prince's first-ever photo shoot.
These were taken to help shop Prince's first demo (!) around to labels. And even though he wasn't famous yet, he's still "Prince" in every shot.
With a forward from Spike Lee, the book PRINCE PRE FAME came out in December of 2017 - almost 40 years to the day the pictures were taken.
